The OU Club of Greater Kansas City (OUCKC) invites you to join the weekly watch party this weekend to watch the OU Sooners Game 7 vs. TCU, Saturday, Oct. 20 @ 11:00am at the Home of OUCKC, Tanner’s Bar & Grill — College Boulevard. Come enjoy the excitement with other area Sooners and support scholarships.  Tanner’s-College Blvd hosts OUCKC weekly parties and will donate $500 directly to OUCKC scholarships when the club averages 50 attendees per game for the season, saving and adding money to the club OU scholarship fund.

Game 6 vs. Texas brought out 132 Sooners, raised memberships to 45 covering 74 Sooner family members and held the annual drawing at 61 tickets (combo prize of Adrian Peterson signed MN Vikings ball cap and collectible Sam Bradford OU plaque) to be awarded at halftime of the Nov. 23rd OU at WVU game  — you DO NOT have to be present to win.

The OU Club of KC primary purpose is funding OU scholarships for KC area students. Membership dues ($30 annually, check our Membership page), fundraisers, donation of drawing items & contributions support these scholarships. Donations payable to the OU Foundation are tax deductible (Memo: OU Club of KC).  OUCKC activities & membership are open to friends, fans & alumni of the University of Oklahoma. SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT:  ADDITIONAL WATCH PARTY SITE FOR TEXAS TECH & OSU:  Tanner’s-39th & Rainbow
OUCKC wants to accommodate more of the large OU alumni and fan base that exists across the spread out Greater KC area, so we want to  be able to offer one or more additional watch party venues.  The ability to do so will depend on having volunteers to run the parties, and goal during trials will be to achieve at least 20 attendees per party.  Tanner’s-College Blvd will remain the Home of the OU Club of KC, hosting our weekly parties and other events.
I am happy to announce that 2 volunteers, Jessica & Shay, stepped forward in early September to share responsibilities for a trial run and selection of one additional site.
Due to an unexpected issue that arose last week with the selected site, we had to quickly change course and thanks to help from Tanner’s, we have secured another site.  Tanner’s-39th & Rainbowwill host 2 watch parties — Nov. 3 Texas Tech and Nov. 10 OSU.  It is further north and east and has easy access off of I-35.  OUCKC hopes this location will bring some additional Sooners out on the 2 game days.
Regardless of trial outcome, post-season and/or additional trial events at this site and/or others will be considered, with the help of additional volunteers.  Please contact me if you would like to help establish additional sites.
